Josh Herbert Gear

Josh Herbert is a 26 year old Singer / Songwriter from Pittsburgh, PA. Josh began playing guitar at the age of ten, learning just a few chords he began writing and recording his own songs.

Growing up Josh was heavily involved in ice hockey playing for The Junior B Penguins as well as his High School team which he helped solidify a State Championship with his four goal game.

After High School Josh continued his Hockey career at Slippery Rock University. It was in his junior year he started posting cover songs to YouTube and started to gain a lot of recognition, enough for him to devote the next 4 years of his life to music.

Graduating from SRU with a Bachelor of Arts degree Josh set his sites on the Big Apple. He moved in with friends staying on a couch in Lower East Side Manhattan. Josh recorded and wrote a three song Pop EP with his time in NYC. Feeling discouraged, he came back home to Wexford, PA to regroup and go back to his acoustic roots to find his true sound.

Finally after years of performing and writing Josh was able to connect with the Dixie Chicks. He flew to Texas to write with Martin Strayer IV and Emily Robison Strayer in January of 2015. Feeling inspired and uplifted after his trip, Josh released his first self titled album. The album reached #30 on the iTunes charts. He then followed the album up with a five song EP “American Rose”.

Josh will be supporting the Dixie Chicks on 21 shows for their MMXVI Tour starting June 1st.
